Janice Long

Former Radio Merseyside presenter Janice Long interviewed Paul Gambaccini, who  recommended her to Radio 1.

She stayed at Radio 1 for five years presenting the Janice Long Show, which was a mix of new music and chat.

During her time at R1, she interviewed more than 250 people from Mick Jagger to Patrick Moore. One of Janice's high points of her career was presenting Live Aid.

She left Radio One in 1987 to have a baby; after the birth, however, she was not given her Radio 1 show back and was replaced by Simon Mayo. She has been heard on Radio 2 since 1999.
