Chris had to Make an apology as his controversial show ‘Cutting Edge’  played highlights of his attempts to "update the BBC Heseltine obituary tape" (based on a real tape for use in the event of the death of a member of the royal family, which his co-presenter Peter Baynham had found lying round in the studio). 

He also announced that Jimmy Savile had died. The show ran from June - December with 24 episodes.
