I'm also interested in any other Xmas Top 5's for before 87, or charts of the year from before 1992.
If there's anybody out there who can help, please e-mail me. Cheers

My question is, does the underlying track have a particular name that you know of Clearly it's something where, in those days, you could have contacted PAMS or whoever and said "I would like jingle XYZ re-sung with the name of this DJ", but what was the jingle known as Hope you know, or know someone who knows! Sun 05/06/2005 12:50 | Daniel daniel.gotts(at) lineone.net | Friday Rock Show playlists 1982 | I am looking for playlists for the Friday Rock Show from May and June 1982, to find a specific track that was played on one show then.
About all I can remember is that the track included the phrases (they sounded like these) 'love is a lie' and 'light me up'. Anyway, playlists from then would be helpful at least and then I can find all the possible tracks from then.
Thanks, Daniel.

Wed 01/06/2005 13:23 | Paul Hibbert Paul_M_Hibbert (at)excite.com | Recording of 1975 show with Top 10 competition winner | Hi, my wife won a Top Ten record competition on the radio in 1975 and she would like to hear the recording that was read out on the radio at the time. What I can gather is that my wife, then Jannette Carlon, sent the answer in, her card was picked out and her name given out as the winner. All I know is that the winner received a copy of the top ten records at the time; Queen was at No.1 which would have made it between Nov 1975 - Dec 1975 and she thought it was the Dave Lee Travis Show. One of the shows must have given away the top ten records, so I can only home in on the DLT Show or Maybe the Top 40 I have contacted Radio One already and they cannot help. If you can help, please let me know asap; Thanks, Paul. |

Sat 21/05/2005 16:44 | | Slade Radio 1 jingle | does anyone have an MP3 of a Christmas jingle/song spoof that R1 must have run in the early 70s It was Slade re-singing Merry Xmas everybody. It was identical to the song except for the end of the chorus. This version went "Here's to the future now on national Radio One". I heard it when I was there in the early 90's in a medley and I'd love to hear it again. I worked with Noddy Holder at Key soon after and even he didn't have a copy.

The documentary was called the History of Pop Radio and was narrated by Noel Edmonds. It was broadcast in six 45 minute parts, just before Paul Gambaccini. I came across the tapes I made recently and was wondering whether anyone could tell me exactly when the documentary was broadcast. Many thanks in advance. |
Mon 25/04/2005 18:49 | Mick P info(at)moving pictureshow.co.uk | Pirates/ 247 Radio 1 Summer Festival | I have recently launched an open-air cinema (full 35mm projected film format) on the Norfolk Coast and, if there is sufficient interest, would love to hold a 'Pirates/247 Radio One Festival' over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It would, hopefully, run through from the Friday to Sunday and feature live bands, recorded music of the period and films such as Woodstock and the likes; obviously punctuated from time-to-time with appropriate jingles and idents. I'd like to think that there would be merchandising and 'swaps' and, if I could afford it or purloin them, a radio personality or two Whether or not it takes place all depends on the response from you good people and I estimate the cost for the whole event would be in the region of Ł25 per head. It would be necessary to take the form of "invitation only" and no 'walk-in' so as not to get wrong with the powers that be. Max gate approx 600. I'm sure a tent site will be available for campers. Anyone interested please contact mail(at)www.movingpictureshow.co.uk Cheers Mick P |
Fri 22/04/2005 23:12 | Iain DeesideIFA(at)aol.com | Radio One Rock Shows 1981 - 1994 | Hello, Over the years I have accumulated literally dozens of BBC Radio One Rock Shows, all recorded on cassettes from FM stereo broadcasts. These consist of Tommy Vance shows from 1981 to 1988 featuring many well-known (and not so well-known) NWOBHM bands. I also have Alan Freeman shows from 1991 to 1994. I would be very interested in trading copies of the above for recordings of Alan Freeman Saturday shows from the 1970s and Tommy Vance shows from the early 1980s. I am particularly interested if anyone out there can shed any light on an instrumental prog rock band called Peaches (I think) who did a session for Alan Freeman around 1974.
Look forward to hearing from you! |
