Wanted: Alan 'Fluff' Freeman *rock shows*

Wanted: Alan 'Fluff' Freeman *rock shows* on R1, Capital and Virgin. Heard 'The Complete Fluff' last night [10:12:06] on R2, and Fluff said his Saturday Rock Show was voted best radio programme for 5 years running ['73 - '78 or '89 - '93, anyone know which period ] - so how come such a successful show was axed What's going on Unbelievable!! I wonder what the audience figures were for Tommy & Fluff's rock shows, compared to R3 at the same time, yet R3 isn't axed is it See you on the dark side of the Moon Fluff.

Cat Stevens on Radio 1

I was delighted to find that Radio Rewind. contains a snippet of an old recording that has eluded me for years. It's from 'Dave Cash at 4', broadcast in 1970 and featuring Cat Stevens. I once had a reel to reel recording of the interview as a youth. Cat talks briefly (from memory) about his then girlfriend Patti D'Arbanville and about his antique Gibson guitar. Would you know of any means of locating the full recording I have a few vintage radio recordings that I could possibly trade.

Regards,

George

60s jingle

Do you know of a jingle which was played on Radio 1 ( or very possibly it's predecessor ) around the mid to late 60s: it was, I think, part of a song and the only lyrics I remember are ' when the weekend's over '....... This was quite an up-tempo number although similar in feel to 'Come Saturday Morning' , which was also popular around this time. It may have been played as a link as I do remember DJs talking over it.

Thanks, Colin White (Lanarkshire, Scotland).

Radio 1 Memorabilia

Hi, I am a collector of Radio One Merchandise, Jingles and Recordings between the dates of 1967 and 1992 and was wondering if there is anybody out there who is able to help me with my collection, e.g. by copying, selling, or whatever. I am willing to accept cd's and minidiscs. I am especially looking for the tune for Our Tune and Pick Of The Pops that was used in the late 1980's, and early 1990's. The Pick of the Pops Theme is still in use on Radio 2 with Dale Winton. I am looking for everything that is available - complete Jam and Pams CD's especially. I am also looking for complete Top 40 shows between 1973 and 1992. Merchandise I am looking for is - radio 1 T-shirts, pens, key-rings, mugs, stickers - I will consider anything. I noticed on another message on the noticeboard that there is somebody looking for 2 Radio 1 films that were made in the 1970's - I am also interested in obtaining copies of these. plus dj photo cards and any thing on swapshop, top of the pops-67-91 and saturday super store. Thank you

Philip

Andy Peebles BFBS 'Soul Train' Theme Tune

During the 80s I have recorded many programmes from BFBS and also show trailers to advertise an upcoming programme. Lately, I found one of these tapes. On there there is a trailer for a programme called "Andy Peebles' Soul Train on BFBS". He used a theme tune I am looking for. I have contacted BFBS in London the producer at that time and even Andy Peebles himself, but both could not remember the tune. Maybe, you can. I have attached the MP3 trailer.

Listen to the theme and hopefully you can give me any information who is by.
Thanks for your help.

Give Us A Break Machine

Does anyone know of any pubs that still have the DLT Give Us A Break machine that was so popular 20 years ago, or were they all withdrawn when he left the station. There must still be a few in existence, possibly not in commercial use, but as antiques I once won five quid on one in 1987 so have fond memories of the machine.

Radio 4 1977 opening Jingle (not Skipping Tune)

In 1977 Radio 4 jumped on the theme bandwagon and used to start up with a pseudo-medieval galliard type tune. I think the whole operation was fairly short-lived because it was not considered in keeping with the 'Home Service' profile. I've been trying to prove it wasn't my imagination ever since.

The only other time it was used was in the 80s with Les Dennis and Dustin Gee in their 'Donkeyote' ( ) sketch.

I did think Fritz Speigl wrote it but I don't know.  Any ideas
